Bran Castle Entry Ticket with Audio Guide review

Entry ticket review
My take: this GetYourGuide entry ticket (€26) skips the official queue at Bran Castle’s gate and includes a downloadable audio guide in 11 languages. I’ve been a licensed Brașov guide since 2013, and I built this page to help visitors understand what this ticket actually gives you versus buying directly at the castle.

The ticket, broken down

Included in the €26 price: skip-the-line entry (no queue at the gate); a downloadable audio guide covering the main rooms and history; mobile ticket (show on phone); instant confirmation; free cancellation up to 24 hours before.

Not included: meals, the Time Tunnel multimedia lift (+€6, ~30 lei on-site), the Torture Chambers exhibit (+€6, ~30 lei on-site). These are add-ons you buy separately, whether you go through GetYourGuide or the official gate.

Who should buy this ticket?

Book the GetYourGuide ticket if: it’s summer or October (peak season, queues can hit 1 hour); you want guaranteed skip-the-line entry; you prefer booking in EUR and a pre-fixed price; you want the audio guide; you might cancel your plans (24-hour free cancellation is a safety net).

The official gate ticket is fine if: you’re arriving on a quiet November Tuesday morning; you don’t want an audio guide; you’re comfortable with the 120-lei official price (about €24) and the queue risk.

Honest notes

The audio guide is decent — it covers the key rooms and gives historical context, but it’s not a substitute for a live guide. A few travellers say the download process was fiddly before arrival, so sort that out at home. Summer weekends and Halloween week often sell out, which is why showing up at the gate hoping to walk in rarely works.

Inside Bran, you will spend extra on the Time Tunnel or Torture Chambers if you want to see those rooms. This is true regardless of which ticket you buy. Budget an extra €12 if you want both add-ons.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between the GetYourGuide ticket and the official price?

GetYourGuide is €26 with skip-the-line and an audio guide. The official gate is 120 lei (about €24) with neither. In summer or October, the queue at the gate can hit an hour. The GetYourGuide ticket also lets you cancel free up to 24 hours before.

Is the audio guide worth it?

If you want context on the rooms and history, yes. If you prefer a live guide or exploring silently, you might not use it. You can download it beforehand and choose which rooms to listen to.

Are there add-ons inside the castle?

Yes. The Time Tunnel (a multimedia lift through the rock) is about €6 extra. The Torture Chambers exhibit is another €6. You pay these on-site, whether you bought skip-the-line or a regular ticket.

Can I cancel?

GetYourGuide lets you cancel free up to 24 hours before. The official gate ticket is final. If your plans change, that’s a real advantage to booking ahead.
